Get to Know Us

Brothers in 9 Training was founded on one simple belief — that growth happens through hard work, discipline, and brotherhood. What started as two players at 5 year olds playing a sport they love to 2 coaches helping local ballplayers. Quickly became a family built around a shared love for the game.

We’re more than a training program — we’re a community that feels like a family. Every player who walks through our doors becomes part of something bigger. We push them to chase their goals, build their confidence, and learn what it truly means to be “Built in the Grind. Forged in Nine.”

Our sessions focus on development both on and off the field. From speed, agility and conditioning to hitting, pitching, and fielding fundamentals to leadership, mindset, and accountability — we train the total athlete. Whether your child is just starting out or preparing for the next level, Brothers in 9 is a place where players become their best version, everyone becomes one family, and lasting bonds and results are built.

At the end of the day, it’s about more than baseball.

It’s about mental fortitude, effort, and family.

We are excited to welcome you to the brotherhood!

About

Coach Teddy Gonzalez Jr. – Co-Founder

Coach Teddy Gonzalez Jr. is a 27-year-old Skills Coach whose biggest heart and relentless drive led him to start varsity catcher at 15. When he takes off the mask, Teddy is a full-time barber, serving the South Plainfield community for 11 years. His coaching uses "nit-picking" workouts to transform flaws into strengths and build mental fortitude. Teddy teaches athletes that life is hard, but success is forged in the grind of pushing past mental limits, ensuring they eliminate "I can't" and lean on their brothers in the 9.

About

Coach Kyle Flores – Co-Founder

Coach Kyle Flores grew up in Piscataway, New Jersey, where his love for sports and competition began long before he ever picked up a whistle. A lifelong athlete in baseball, football, and wrestling, he learned early that success doesn’t come easy — it’s earned through consistency, grit, and the willingness to outwork everyone in the room.

For the past eight years, Kyle has dedicated himself to shaping the next generation of ballplayers — starting in Piscataway Little League, coaching 8–12-year-olds, and now leading the South Plainfield Knights 10U Travel Baseball Team. His coaching style is built on discipline, energy, and connection — pushing players to unlock their potential while reminding them that greatness starts with effort.

Off the field, Kyle serves as a State Corrections Officer, a role that reflects his commitment to structure, integrity, and accountability — qualities that carry directly into his training and leadership.

Through Brothers in 9 Training, Kyle is building more than athletes — he’s building a brotherhood. His mission goes far beyond the game: to create lifelong bonds and impact players in a way that stays with them forever. He strives to be the coach they look back on years later and say,

“You were my role model. You pushed me past my limits. You helped shape who I am today.”

For Coach Kyle, this is bigger than baseball — it’s about family, faith in the grind, and helping every player become the best version of themselves.
